Ideally situated in Madzedze Bay, as you drive into Monkey Bay from Golomoti, Katawa Cottage is a new four-roomed accommodation unit in the lakeside district of Mangochi.
In September 2021, just before they opened for business, I was asked to photograph the units for their marketing promotion efforts.
Exposed wooden beams and the warmth of thatched roofing meet the modern amenities of the cottages.

Things to do in Cape Maclear, Monkey Bay and Mangochi
Katawa Cottage is 20 km from Cape Maclear where you can enjoy boat rides in Lake Malawi National Park. You can also snorkel, scuba dive, paddleboard or hike up Chembe Hill. The cottage is 9 km from Monkey Bay and 55 km north of Mangochi Boma if you are looking to visit the port, the Mangochi Museum or other things in between.
